We’ve been eagerly anticipating the birth of our first niecphew (we don’t know what it is yet), so I bought a new lens for my Cannon SLR in anticipation of having something other than my cat ferris to take pictures of. I took some test shots with it, they turned out OK. It’s a “fast” lens so I should be able to take pictures in low light with out a flash and that always comes in handy.

It’s a EF 50mm 1.8 II, for those who are familiar, and they’re fairly inexpensive on Amazon.

I found this today on digg. It’s the most awesome thing I think I’ve found online in a long long time. I can’t tell if it’s a joke or real.
