World Peace through Silly Dancing?

It's Funny Cause it's True , Life , Travel • Jul 14, 2008

An internet classic is back, just in time as we’re planning our next vacation. That crazy “Where the Hell is Matt” guy is back with another video of himself dancing around the world. And if you thought one awkward dancing guy was pretty funny wait till you see what happens when he gets crowds of people to join him!

It never really gets old. It’s hard to believe such a simple concept has had such internet success. I wonder what he’ll do next?

Oh, and his silly dance doesn’t really work in zero gravity…

My Life List

Life • Jul 8, 2008

I’ve been thinking about making a list for a while; a list of life goals. Every time I start to think about it it changes and I come up with different stuff so this list will change as I remember more things that are missing and hopefully knock things off. (UPDATED 04/17/12)

    1. Backpack through Europe
    2. See the Aurora Borealis
    3. Judge a Chili cookoff
    4. Get my name in IMDB for a legitimate reason
    5. Learn to drive a manual transmission
    6. Get to know my roots in Cuba
    7. See a movie at the Alamo Drafthouse
    8. Drive across the country
    9. Eat Chicago deepdish Pizza in Chicago
    10. Learn to speak conversational German, Portuguese, Italian, Greek, French and Japanese
    11. Visit Mt. Everest base camp
    12. Learn to surf
    13. See the great Pyramid
    14. Stand on the North Pole (OK, I’m an idiot. There is no land mass at the North Pole…)
    15. Watch David Beckham play
    16. Shake hands with a U.S. President
    17. Visit Machu Picchu
    18. See flowing lava

There’s more, I just can’t remember them right now…

Happiness is a new lens

Photography • Jun 26, 2008

We’ve been eagerly anticipating the birth of our first niecphew (we don’t know what it is yet), so I bought a new lens for my Cannon SLR in anticipation of having something other than my cat ferris to take pictures of. I took some test shots with it, they turned out OK. It’s a “fast” lens so I should be able to take pictures in low light with out a flash and that always comes in handy.

It’s a EF 50mm 1.8 II, for those who are familiar, and they’re fairly inexpensive on Amazon.

I took some picture of my old lens with it, click to see another shot:
